DANVERS, Massachusetts – October 17, 2024 – NeuroLogica Corporation, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. a leader in mobile computed tomography (CT) solutions, is excited to announce a significant milestone: the production of its 1000th point of care CT system. This achievement not only marks a pivotal moment in the company’s history but also reflects its commitment to advancing healthcare through innovative imaging technology.

Founded in 2004, NeuroLogica made waves in the medical imaging field with the launch of the CereTom® in 2005, the world’s first mobile head CT. This groundbreaking technology emerged from a personal story to create accessible imaging solutions for family members facing medical issues. Faced with limited access to CT services in remote areas, the founding team envisioned a way to bring imaging directly to patients, leading the team to drive around hospitals with a CereTom prototype, meeting with neurologists and neuroradiologists to discuss the feasibility of mobile CT solutions.

In 2013, NeuroLogica was acquired by Samsung, transforming Danvers, Massachusetts, into the United States headquarters for Samsung’s Health and Medical Equipment, including ultrasound, digital radiography and mobile CT. This strategic partnership has enabled NeuroLogica to expand its reach, with sales and service operations in over 70 countries worldwide.

Samsung is committed to becoming a global leader in the medical imaging sector and is investing heavily in creating innovative and advanced imaging technologies to enhance people's quality of life.

NeuroLogica was founded in 2004 in the metropolitan Boston area, where the company still operates to this day. NeuroLogica continues to manufacture all the CT systems in their facility in Massachusetts.

Over time, NeuroLogica has continued to expand the product portfolio with even specialized offerings like the mobile stroke units with OmniTom Elite so more healthcare providers are able to deliver mobile, point-of-care treatment to stroke patients quickly and efficiently. In addition to bringing new and emerging technologies to the market, the company introduced one of the largest innovations in medical imaging in the last decade, OmniTom® Elite with PCD, as the first FDA 510(k) cleared, single-source photon counting computed tomography scanner with a single detector, capable of generating spectral CT images at multiple energy levels.

To date, NeuroLogica has established an impressive install base with a mix of head and neck and full body CT systems, delivering critical imaging solutions to hospitals and healthcare facilities globally. The journey from a pioneering idea to the production of 1000 CT systems underscores the company’s dedication to improving patient care through advanced imaging technology.

NeuroLogica CT systems have become a standard of care when point-of-care imaging accuracy is required.

Kyu Tae Yoo, Head of Health & Medical Equipment Business at Samsung Electronics and CEO of Samsung Medison, stated, “The future of mobile CT holds tremendous potential. As we continue to innovate and improve our technology, we are committed to making advanced imaging more accessible to healthcare providers, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and revolutionizing the way medical imaging is utilized in critical settings.”

“I am incredibly proud of the growth NeuroLogica has achieved over the years and grateful for the dedicated team that has made it possible,” said Renaud Maloberti, Head of Mobile CT Business. “Our collective passion for innovation and commitment to delivering exceptional mobile CT solutions have not only transformed the way imaging is accessed but have also made a meaningful difference in patient care worldwide.”

As NeuroLogica celebrates this milestone, the company looks forward to continuing its mission of innovation and excellence in mobile CT solutions.
